This project emerged from my fascination with exotic rituals, where facial transformations are striking features, to concerns about the increasing intrusion of privacy through facial recognition technology. Intriguing questions arose about the importance of the face in our contemporary society. My exploration journey went through various phases—from investigating Western beauty ideals using makeup techniques and collages, to exploring the profound meanings of facial markings in diverse tribes, with a focus on narrative, abstract symbols.

All of these elements were then interconnected with the world of facial recognition technology, as I delved into nodal points and drew inspiration from leading designers experimenting with this technology. Ultimately, in my research, I crafted a personal symbolic language that provides protection against facial recognition technology. The culmination of this exploration is captured in a series of photos showcasing the symbolic facial markings. These images serve as the visual embodiment of my creative journey, where identity, culture, technology, and expression harmoniously converge.
